Sharing Collaboro Videos
These instructions will show you how to share Collaboro videos with students or potentially people external of the organization. It will explore the 2 methods of sharing the videos - embedding and a public link. These videos can be accessed both at school or at home by using one of the below methods.
Embedding a video (Preferred method for films / copyrighted material)
If you want to share a video with students we recommend embedding the video into the online course platform you use. This method is preferred as it requires the student to be logged in to view the video.
The below instructions describe how to embed a video.
- Login to Collaboro https://silkwood.collaboro.com/ by clicking "Sign in with Microsoft" and filling in your normal Microsoft logins.
- Locate and click on the video.
- Click the embed button to the right of the video.
- If you see the Get Embed Code buton, click that. If it's not there disregard.
- Highlight and copy the Embed code.
- Paste the embed code into an LMS course page, webpage or wherever you'd like it to go. Most have the option to insert an embed code.
Be warned of copyright and as this is publicly available, if it is a film for example don't put it on somewhere that the whole world can see without logging in, instead embed onto a online course page that only your students can login to.
Sharing a public link of a video (Be careful - anyone with the link can see the content!)
If you want to share a video of something that isn't copyrighted material you can use this method. Anyone that has the link can watch the video without having to be logged in as it is public facing.
The below instructions describe how to get a public link of a video.
Login to Collaboro https://silkwood.collaboro.com/ by clicking "Sign in with Microsoft" and filling in your normal Microsoft logins.
- Locate and click on the video.
- Click the embed button to the right of the video.
- If you see the Get Embed Code buton, click that. If it's not there disregard.
- Highlight and copy the red video URL text.
- Paste the copied public video URL to whoever you wish to share with.
Be warned of copyright and as this is publicly available, if it is a film for example don't use the public link method unless you're sure it won't be shared outside of the organization.
Below is a short instructional video demonstrating how to use the embed code and public video link methods.
