Print Daybook Reports for Pupil from the Portal
Daybook reports can be printed from the Portal for one student or multiple. This can be a helpful process as when exporting to PDF from the Pupil Daybook screen, some of the daybook entries appear in large font or cut off content. This is a known error that Engage will fix in a future update.
In the Portal, navigate to the Documents> Reports page
Report Category
In the Report Sub-Category, pick Daybook and in the Select Report, choose the second Daybook Template Report (Per Pupil). Please note, some reports are doubled up and we are unable to remove them. The general rule is if the one doesn't work, try the other one.
You can type into the search box or scroll through in alphabetical order.

Report Options
If you expand the Report Options you can add an optional sub-title and change the font / header/ footer. We recommend having the Font on Calibri 11 to reduce the number of pages the report may run for.
If you make any changes here, make sure to Save them.
Select Pupils
Expand this section to select student/s. This is done by either using the filters or you can directly enter a name. Whichever way you go, you must click Search to have students show up in the Available Pupils section.
Once you have the student/s in the Available Pupils, select them and use the right arrow to move them to the Report on Selected Pupils box and then you can Run Report.
Report Filters
A new screen will open up where you can choose the report filters.
Select the date range and the daybook type. If there is more than one instance in the date range they will all print.
Once your parameters are selected, click OK.
Notes:
- If a new tab does not open, pop-ups might be blocked on your browser. Please see the end of this solution for how to quickly troubleshoot this common issue.
- If you want a specific report and don't know the dates, you can use the Pupil Daybook section of the Portal to see all daybook entries for a student to find what you need.
Report Preview and Download
A new tab will open with a Preview of the report. You can use the drop down to change the preview from One Page to Whole Report if you want to scroll through how it will look.
To Download, change the Document File type to Adobe PDF File and click Save. The report will appear in your Downloads folder.
Troubleshooting Pop-Ups
If the Report Filters do not pop up in a new tab, an icon of a box with a red x should appear on the right hand side of the address bar.
- Click on this icon
- Select always allow pop-ups and redirects (the Portal is a secure site)
- Click Done
You will need to Run Report again after the pop-ups have been allowed.
